Always try and have the originals or if that is not possible, then at least copies of the following for you and your children:
Checklist:

·Passports and/or other identification papers

·Social security cards

·Visas/Immigration documents

·Birth certificates

·Marriage certificates

·Copies of Police Records if any, including restraining order

·Divorce and Custody papers

·Lease, rental agreement, mortgage or house deed

·Insurance Papers

·Children's school records

·Medical records and health cards

·Bank statements

·Your Credit cards

·Keys for the house/work

·Medications

·Children's favorite toys, blankets, books

·Pictures and other items of sentimental value

·House and car keys

·Car Title and registration

·Checkbook / Extra checks

·Address book / Appointment book
